Management
R. Terry Dunlay, Founder, President and CEO – Mr. Dunlay is an experienced entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in life science technology development and commercialization. Previously, he was co-founder of Cellomics, Inc. where he invented and commercialized the company’s cell-based screening instrumentation and informatics products and held senior management positions, including Executive Vice President. Prior to Cellomics, Mr. Dunlay was founder and CEO of Biological Detection, Inc. and Vice President of Biological Detection Systems, Inc. He holds 15 patents in the area of cell-based screening instrumentation and informatics.
Thomas Duensing, Ph.D., Vice President Product Development – Dr. Duensing has more than 16 years of experience in scientific research, drug discovery and product development in the area of assay, applications and reagent systems. Dr. Duensing was Senior Director of In Vitro Pharmacology at Tanox, Inc., where he built a successful assay development and high throughput screening program which contributed to the advancement of therapeutic monoclonal antibody candidates into clinical development. Prior to Tanox, Dr. Duensing was Director of Assay Development at Cellomics, Inc. He has also held research scientist positions at the National Institutes of Health’s Rocky Mountain Labs and Syntex
David Choiniere, Vice President Sales – Mr. Choiniere has over 15 years experience in sales and sales management in the life sciences research market. Mr. Choiniere was Director of Laser Capture Microdissection Products North America for MDS Analytical Technologies prior to joining IntelliCyt. Mr. Choiniere helped build the LCM market for Arcturus Inc., crafting a successful system-solution selling approach of instrumentation, consumables and support, before its acquisition by Molecular Devices. Prior to Arcturus, Mr. Choiniere was the Eastern Area Sales Manager for Zymed Laboratories.
Christopher Black, Ph.D., Vice President Application Sciences – Dr. Black has more than 15 years experience in building both scientific and commercial life science teams. Before joining IntelliCyt, Dr. Black was the Operations and Product Development leader at CellzDirect Invitrogen, a division of Life Technologies. Prior to the acquisition by Life Technologies, Dr. Black was the Vice President Operations at CellzDirect and was responsible for overall revenue goals, R&D, and operations for the products and services businesses spanning the North Carolina and Texas sites. Before CellzDirect, Dr. Black managed overall operations for the cell products and contract services for CEDRA’s Drug Metabolism division maintaining responsibility for human and animal hepatocyte production and implementation of both GLP and non-GLP protocols for the contract services laboratory. Dr. Black received his Ph.D. from Ohio State University and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on cellular and biochemical research.
Linda S. Trinkle, Director of Marketing – Ms. Trinkle has more than 20 years experience in the field of flow cytometry. Previously, Ms. Trinkle was at Becton Dickinson as a research instrument specialist, selling flow cytometers into the research market and later managed pharmaceutical national accounts for BD Biosciences. At CompuCyte Corporation, she was responsible for introducing and marketing the LSC, Laser Scanning Cytometer to research and pathology laboratories. She has also held research positions at the University of Louisville and the University of Cincinnati, where she was the manager of the core flow cytometry laboratory.

Bo E. H. Saxberg, M.D., Ph.D. - Dr. Saxberg is the President of DDO Strategic Services, a consulting services company working with emerging companies seeking to take leading advantage of change driven by new technologies and information access in health care. Prior to founding DDO, he was Vice President, Advanced Communications for Johnson & Johnson. In that role, he led Johnson & Johnson’s efforts in medical informatics. Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, he was a Senior Research Scientist with Eli Lilly, and in 1993 was named Director of Information Sciences at Eli Lilly. Before Eli Lilly, he spent two years as an N.I.H. Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He received an M.D. degree from Harvard and his Ph.D. in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Matt Warta – Mr. Warta is General Partner at Village Ventures, a seed and early stage venture capital firm. Mr. Warta was Vice President of corporate development and finance at CyberCrop.com, Inc., where he was instrumental in the development of the company's initial business plan and securing financing. Previously he was a Vice President at Koch Ventures, Inc. Mr. Warta focuses on healthcare related investments, including healthcare IT, healthcare services, medical technology, and outsourced services for the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. He has significant experience with cell-based screening having been one of the founding investors in CellzDirect, Inc.
H. Raymond Radosevich, Ph.D. – Dr. Radosevich is a founding partner of the Verge Fund, a venture capital fund that invests in seed and early stage companies. He has over 30 years of experience as a professor, associate dean and dean in the field of management. Previously, Dr. Radosevich served as the Dean of the Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico. He established and became President and Chairman of the Board of the New Mexico Technological Innovation Program, Inc. (NMTIP), a not-for-profit corporation that provided business start-up assistance to spin-off companies. He is currently a Director of Wellkeeper, Inc. and Avasca Medical, Inc. He was also a Director of Pulse Systems, Inc., and Quasar International, Inc., spin-offs from Los Alamos National Laboratory and a Director of General Energy Technologies.
J. Michael Schafer - Michael Schafer is the Managing Director for New Mexico Community Capital. Mr. Schafer leads the Fund’s investment activities, directs portfolio company support and interfaces with the Fund’s limited partners. He previously served as General Partner and Principal with the venture capital firm of Tullis-Dickerson & Company (Greenwich, Connecticut). While at Tullis-Dickerson, Michael established and directed the firm’s New Mexico operations. Michael left Tullis-Dickerson in 2002 to become the Founder, President and Managing General Partner of Ventures UNC– the venture capital arm of the $1.4 billion asset management group of the University of North Carolina’s endowment. His previous experience includes directing business development activities at SunPharm and founding/managing The Woodlands Venture Partners. Michael received his BS at Davidson College and his MBA at University of Michigan.
Gregory R. Johnson, Ph.D. – Dr. Johnson is a founder and managing director of Prolog Ventures and has more than 25 years of experience managing venture capital funds and corporate venture capital investment programs. His activities at Prolog focus on early-stage investments in diagnostics, life science tools and minimally invasive surgery. Prior to Prolog, Dr. Johnson was a general partner at Gateway Associates. Previously, he was Vice President of Monsanto Venture Capital and Monsanto's Director of New Ventures and Technology where he oversaw Monsanto's $80 million portfolio of corporate venture capital investments. Dr. Johnson holds a doctorate in physics from the University of Rochester and a bachelor's degree from MIT.
Scientific Advisors
Larry Sklar, Ph.D. – Dr. Sklar is Regents Professor of Pathology and Distinguished Professor of Pharmacy, and Director of Basic Research at University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. Dr. Sklar is Director of the New Mexico Molecular Libraries Screening Center. He has more than 250 publications and patents in leukocyte biology, molecular assembly in signal transduction and cell adhesion, and high throughput flow cytometry for drug discovery. Dr. Sklar is co-inventor of HyperCyt. Dr. Sklar obtained his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry at Stanford University.
Bruce Edwards, Ph.D. – Dr. Edwards is the Director of the Cancer Research and Treatment Center Shared Flow Cytometry Resource the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, and lead of the High Throughput Screening Core of the New Mexico Molecular Libraries Screening Center. Dr. Edwards is co-inventor of HyperCyt. Dr, Edwards obtained his Ph.D. in Biology at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
