Z’-Factor Calculation

Z’-Factor plate calculations can only be performed on Well Data generated from Metrics in iQue Forecyt®. You must choose a positive and negative control in order to perform the calculation. A single Z’-Factor for each plate is calculated as follows:

• σp = standard deviation of the positive control wells for each plate
• σn = standard deviation of the negative control wells for each plate
• μp = mean of the positive control wells for each plate
• μn = mean of the negative control wells for each plate

 

You can choose an Alias for the calculation. If a well is marked as Excluded or has an invalid value (i.e. NaN or Infinity) then the well will be excluded from the calculation.

Z’-Factor calculations can also be generated automatically from the Panorama Creation Wizard (New Panorama ) by checking the Create Z’-Factor plate calculation… checkbox.
