Derived Concentration

In a multi-plate experiment you can Add Standard Set to one plate and apply that standard across all the plates in your experiment. This saves time, reagents and reduces the possibility of pipetting errors. Derived Concentration allows you to calculate concentration using curve fits from other plates. This curve fit will propagate to templates, and new experiments based on those templates. Before you can apply Derived Concentration you have to Share Fit in Curve Fit: Standard Curve in Analysis. If you have not done this, when you click on Derived Concentration you will get this message:

If you have specified Share Fit, when you select Derived Concentration, a screen opens where you can select the details for the Derived Concentration

If the derived concentration metric is using a curve fit from an experiment that is not the current experiment (a template), a light blue flag will appear in the top left hand corner of the metric. If you want to use a curve fit on the current plate, this will help remind you that it is currently using a fit from elsewhere.
