Viral Replication and Infection Assays
The rapid emergence of infectious diseases, such as COVID-19, highlight the critical need to better understand the biology of viral infection, propagation in host cells, as well as the immune response that results.
Viral replication and infection assays enable the study of pathogenesis in host cultures and the testing of novel antiviral therapeutics and vaccines. The IncuCyte® Live-Cell Analysis System offers an automated option for working with pathogenic microorganisms, while they remain in the incubator undisturbed for greater biological relevance. Using simple and reliable quantification and non-perturbing reagents, IncuCyte enables real-time analysis of viral infection and replication, host interactions, cell viability, and antiviral screening providing a platform to enable drug discovery for new treatments and vaccine development. The iQue Advanced Flow Cytometry Platform can be used for viral research activities such as antibody library screening, immune response assessment, epitope mapping, and antibody neutralization studies. The small sample volumes enable maximum data collection from each precious sample.

BHK-21 cells were cotransfected with two foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) replicons containing either a GFP (green) or mCherry (red) reporters.
